Yoga styles

Thinking where to start with or interested in trying out new styles? Here you can find more about different styles of yoga :)

We are primarily Vinyasa + Rocket focused + we have a variety of styles, to fit different preferences.

  • Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic practice full of stretchy and strengthening positions. During this hour the teacher will guide you through a sequence with focus on connection between body and breath and it'll definitely make you sweat!

This class is open to all levels of practitioners with modifications for beginners and more layers for more advanced practitioners.

  • The Rocket Yoga sequences (I, II & III) are a series of postures based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary and intermediate series. This allows the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga method to be accessible to everyone who is willing to try. The levels I, II & III doesn't mean that it gets more and more difficult, it just means different series:

    • Rocket I - Longer standing series with lots of forward folds in seated positions

    • Rocket II - Shorter standing series and 7 backbends in a row in seated.

    • Rocket III - 90 Postures in 90 minutes! The most fun day of the week!

Bottle Rocket - A shortened version of the Rocket series designed to be completed within a 60 minutes.

Developed by Larry Schultz in San Francisco, The Rocket is known for being fun, fast, and encouraging students to lift up and fly. Rocket yoga encourages the practitioner to let go of fear and embrace the fact that you are stronger than you think you are.

At Prague Yoga Collective we try to stay true to the lineage of Rocket Yoga and invite you all to come try this powerful, fun and graceful practice!

ALL Rocket series are open to beginners as well as advanced students!

  • 4BEAT is a dynamic vinyasa flow born out of the Rocket Yoga system. The core of the practice is the alignment of the breath to the slow, regular beat of the music.

Focusing the mind and the breath on a 4-Beat count holds the concentration to a single, unwavering point, immersing the practitioner in a state of synchronous moving meditation.

The two main sequences are based on the arc of the (ashtanga-inspired) Rocket Yoga system, designed to energetically take you up and then bring you back down to a calmer place than you started from. Inversions and arm balances feature throughout, but the breath always comes before the difficulty of the pose

  • Back to Basics is a class designed for beginners to advanced students to gain a foundational knowledge of postures, breathing techniques, and meditation through movement with a special focus on the use of the breath during sun salutations.

The class will take a technical and slower approach to postures - bringing attention to alignment in the body and how to gain body awareness.

This class is suitable for all levels of practitioners but particularly for beginners.

  • Yin & Yang is a concept that brings together the strong and physical with mindfulness, yin & meditation.

The tone of this class will be set by a guided meditation full of healing poetry and/or affirmations. Then we will empower ourselves with some sweaty, dynamic vinyasa. Towards the end we will bring the focus back to the intentions in longer holds and yummy stretches. A well deserved Savasana, accompanied by mellow guitar tunes and mantras will round off this beautiful practice.

This class is suitable for all levels of practitioners.

  • The Jivamukti Spiritual Warrior class is set Vinyasa sequence which takes an hour to practice.

It includes asana warm-up (magic ten), chanting, setting of intention, surya namaskar, standing poses, backbends, forward bends, twists, inversions, meditation and relaxation.

The teacher is leading the class mainly verbally, providing hands on assists through the whole class and giving individual tips. Since the asana sequence is always the same, you will pick it up quite quickly after only a couple of classes.

Suitable for beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

  • Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of practice. In our Yin classes, the poses are held for a longer period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to focus on the connective tissue such as the ligaments and bones rather than the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.

Yin yoga can be very challenging on a physical, emotional and mental level, and can often yield a deep release or shift in the practitioner. This class is great if you practice lots of fast paced, power flow as it gives us time to slow down and go deeper into our bodies and minds.

Class is open to all levels of practitioners.

  • This is a class that's designed to elevate your practice to new heights. This class seamlessly blends traditional yoga flow with Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) techniques. If you're looking to amplify your strength, fine-tune your alignment, and achieve dynamic mobility, this class offers an experience designed to empower your yoga practice and daily life.

    TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

The cardinal rule in this class is simple yet significant: “10 seconds in a perfect tabletop position is a bigger achievement than 1 second in banana-shaped handstand” The emphasis lies on quality over quantity and alignment is crucial.

Through the integration of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) techniques, we empower you to master each pose from the ground up, ensuring optimal form and minimizing the risk of injury.

  • Want to start refining your upside-down techniques? Then this class is definitely for you!

Our inversions class starts with a necessary warm up – especially wrists and shoulders. This is followed by some strengthening exercises. After that we are moving towards handstand drills. In the beginning you will spend some time with the wall, and once you are comfortable you can practice in the free space. Sometimes we will also work on armbalances.

This class is suitable for everyone who wants to start practicing their inversions to advanced handstanders as everything can be modified for your current level.

  • Join us on a rejuvenating breathwork and meditation journey that takes you beyond the limits of your body, perfectly complementing your asana practice of all styles.

We'll commence with a few gentle asanas designed to prime your body for a relaxed and steady seated posture. As we settle, we'll harness the power of breathwork, refining the balance of our nervous system, and paving the way for a calming meditation.

The sessions will be enriched with repetitive humming or bija mantra singing, the most powerful tools for getting into deep meditative states as proven by both the Indian yogic tradition and modern science.

Our class will culminate in a visualization, sowing seeds of even deeper tranquility, creativity, and focus into our mindscape. You will depart from our session with an invigorated spirit, feeling as though a dormant essence within has been awakened.

No prior breathwork or meditation experience needed!

  • The Dragon Dance is a blend of Indian yoga (Vinyasa yoga) and Daoist alchemy (Tai Chi) designed to stimulate the flow of energy (prana or chi) through directed awareness and vigorous movements. It is a yin and yang practice starting with yang part which is dynamic, repetitive and energizing allowing the movements and breath to synchronize.

The ultimate stage is dragon’s fire, where the heat of the flow becomes intense enough to cause you to sweat. Then the dance slows into a yin mode where postures are held in stillness for a few breaths, followed by nice and long shavasana.

Dragon Dance is not only a vinyasa and yin yoga, it is a story, a myth, a symbol of our internal desires and external expectations that together create a beautiful dance to liberation.

This class is available for all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

    Come and find your dragon!
