Sun Salutations are fundamental to a Vinyasa or Rocket practice because they create the foundation for breath-linked movement, which is central to these dynamic styles. They build heat in the body, increase circulation, and prepare muscles and joints for deeper postures. In Vinyasa and Rocket yoga, the repetition of Sun Salutations helps cultivate rhythm, stamina, and focus, setting the tone for a fluid, energized flow.

Surya Namaskar A: Master the Foundations | Flow with Breath - Saturday Aug 16th 9-11:15am (led by Cait LeQuire)

Maybe you’ve felt uncomfortable in Downward Facing Dog, or you’re not sure if anything is actually happening in a Halfway Lift. Perhaps you’ve even wondered, “when do I inhale or exhale?" Come join part one of this 3-part series to deepen your understanding of some of the most familiar yoga postures that make up Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) A, and repeat throughout a yoga class. Let’s slow it down to examine each asana with a focus on alignment, breath, muscle engagement, and energetic direction.

We’ll take time to explore how to find stability, ease, and presence in each transition, and how to adapt the sequence to meet your body’s needs. We’ll also bring awareness to common patterns and movement habits that may lead to tension or instability over time. Through alignment cues and functional insights, you’ll refine the way you move through this foundational flow so it feels safer, stronger, and more intentional.

Surya Namaska: Chaturanga Dandasana & Jumpbacks - Saturday Aug 23rd 9-11:15am (led by Alex Rodoni)

Unlock the power and precision of your practice in this focused workshop designed to refine two key elements of Vinyasa flow: Chaturanga Dandasana and Jump-Backs. We’ll break down proper alignment in Chaturanga to build strength, stabilize the shoulders, and create a sustainable practice. You’ll also explore drills and techniques to develop the control, core engagement, and coordination needed for safe and effective jump-backs from the top of the mat to Chaturanga Dandasana as well as Handstand to Chaturanga Dandasana.

This workshop will help you understand how to incorporate these skills into your Sun Salutations, creating smoother transitions, more stability, and a stronger foundation for your ongoing Vinyasa or Rocket practice. Open to all levels, with modifications and progressions offered throughout.

Take a deep dive into Surya Namaskar B, the energizing sun salutation sequence we often cue in our Rocket and Vinyasa classes. In this workshop, we’ll break down each posture and transition — step by step, in both theory and practice. You’ll learn how to move with greater clarity, strength, and ease as we refine the fundamentals of this powerful warm-up.

We’ll explore the 4-beat rhythm to help you connect more deeply with your breath and build a smooth, intentional flow that supports your personal practice. Whether you’re newer to the sequence or looking to deepen your understanding, this is your chance to tune into the details that matter. Flow smarter. Breathe deeper. Move with purpose.
