Pincha & Handstand Workshops w/Terez Greskova

May 25th-26th, 2024

Come join Terez for a closer look at your techniques for Pincha Mayurasana and Handstand.

Terez (Terezia Greskova) has been on a path of yoga for over 15 years. She used yoga at the beginning mostly as a method to come in peace with life events and traumas as well as grief from losing a beloved person. Yoga, therefore, for her does not end with Asana practice, it is a lifelong journey and lifestyle, which includes many exits out of comfort zone, self-discipline, but also enthusiasm for ecology and veganism. She lived abroad in Vienna, London and India for about 8 years and has been actively gathering experience with a help of various teachers. Her main influence is Stewart Gilchrist from London, with whom she has been studying since 2015 till now. Another long-term influences include Sivananda Yoga Ashram Centre, Himalayan Iyengar Centre, Vijay Kumar, BNS Iyengar, and many others.

In her teaching, Terez pays attention mainly to technique and special adaptation to each and every practitioner. With a gentle touch, she helps practitioners to find what is right for them at a given moment, and at the same time teaches her students to overcome their own limitations. She emphasizes ujjayi breath as part of dynamic vinyasa practice as a leading force to connect to the physical as well as metaphysical planes of being and teaches yoga as moving breathing meditation. She is using posture, Asana, as a gateway to higher awareness of the Self as well as to moral and ethical contemplations that enable deeper connection to other beings. She is actively encouraging her students to find direct parallels between the practice and daily life experience.

Pincha Mayurasana

Saturday 25/5, 9:00-11:00am

This workshop is guiding practitioners through explorations on strengthening and opening up of shoulders and other body parts in order to unlock the fore arm balance posture called "pincha". The workshop s about building up the way towards forearm balance in a straight line but will also include other variation for more advanced practitioners as well as Scorpio pose, including variations with blocks or strap.

Handstand

The workshops is focused on building a strength and flexibility for a safe way to hand balancing. It is advisable that the practitioner would have a stable balance in Sirsasana (Headstand) and would not be afraid to kick up to handstand against the wall.
