We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Anna Ashby to PYC for this very special weekend! Her presence, depth of knowledge, and gentle yet powerful way of guiding practice make this an experience we’re truly excited to share with our community. Whether you’re looking to slow down, reconnect, or explore your practice in a more spacious way, Anna’s teaching offers a rare opportunity to feel supported, inspired, and deeply at ease.

Anna teaches a multi-faceted practice that spotlights the finer details of āsana, breath and being. A practice invites an embodied enquiry that may include detail, flow and stillness practices such as restorative, tai chi and meditation. Sessions are designed to enliven, ground and centre while releasing tension and promoting balance. 

Sessions often include Restorative practice which fortifies nervous system balance through the support and comfort of bolsters and blankets. Postures are held long enough to notice patterns of holding and engage in a process of release through natural breath, awareness and presence.

This weekend amplifies various practices that bring about stillness and space as a wellspring for insight and creativity. It includes journaling and reflection, as well as Restorative Yoga, tai chi movements and meditation along with traditional asana practice. 

Each session weaves in yoga wisdom and modern insight as frames for enlivening and exploring yoga as a form of deep enquiry that reaffirms interrelationship.

Anna Ashby is a senior yoga teacher, trainer and author of the acclaimed book Restorative Yoga: Power, Presence, Practice for Teachers and Trainees (2022). Her unique style reflects a variety of influences including: dance, extensive yoga training focused on alignment and precision, restorative arts, tai chi and somatic movement. Much of her inspiration stems from her 12-year immersion in yoga practice while living in an ashram during the 1990s.
